Samsung on Sunday crossed a company record by selling three million Galaxy S II phones in 55 days. The Android flagship hit its milestone 30 days faster than the original Galaxy S. At its peak, Galaxy S II phones have been selling at a rate of one every 1.5 seconds.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Samsung has dropped its patent infringement lawsuit against Apple which had claimed that the latter had taken many of its ideas from Samsung while infringing on the Korean firm's patents. The suit was dropped on Thursday, according to Bloomberg, and company spokesman Nam Ki Yung said the action was taken in order to "streamline" the proceedings.

Add another country in the list of lawsuits filed by Samsung against Apple. The Korean giant has filed a case in UK in the High Court in London and like the suits in other countries, it alleges Apple products like iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to infringe Samsung’s patents.
In addition to UK, Samsung has already sued Apple in four other countries including US, South Korea, Tokyo and Germany.

The lawsuit between Apple and Samsung has taken a rather nasty turn as Samsung have filed for an injunction against iPhone and iPad imports to the United States. It's a fairly bold move and part of the wider battle between the two over patent infringement.
